  1. Ingestion: A well-meaning user uploads a document or asset (e.g., PDF manual) to their AI assistant for normal work. 
  2. Discovery & Aggregation: Using MCP tool connectors, the assistant queries internal systems, file shares, databases—even those the user never directly requested. It surfaces sensitive fields like SSNs, medical identifiers, financial records. 
  3. Exfiltration: Hidden instructions embedded in the uploaded asset instruct the assistant to send the aggregated data to an attacker-controlled endpoint. Because the agent is already trusted and inside the firewall, the activity goes unnoticed by legacy security tools.
